The Lord Mayor’s Special Award for Leadership in Financial Literacy

This award draws on one of the theme’s priorities – Financial Inclusion for All – which focuses on promoting financial education in order to help people improve their mastery of money and, in turn, improve their social mobility.

For 2023, the Lord Mayor’s Award is for businesses that have had – or are having –  a positive impact on the financial literacy of young people, vulnerable adults or those facing disadvantage.

We are actively seeking nominations from SMEs and large businesses in this category.

For private sector businesses having a positive impact on the financial literacy of young people, vulnerable adults or those facing disadvantage.

To qualify your initiative should do one or more of the following:

1. Address financial literacy issues in Greater London communities through skills development initiatives for young people, vulnerable adults or those facing disadvantage.
2. Support inclusive access to your products or services by supporting young people, vulnerable adults or those facing disadvantage with the development of financial literacy skills.

1. Employee volunteering initiatives to support school children to develop numeracy and financial skills.
2. Workshops to develop financial skills and provide support for adults transitioning from homelessness.
3. Financial literacy and money management sessions for families from disadvantaged communities
